Zuzalu

An umbrella community of popup villages anchored to the Ethereum community.

About Zuzalu

Zuzalu was a two-month experimental popup city in Montenegro created by Vitalik Buterin and a small team. It brought together ~200 builders, thinkers, and researchers in longevity, crypto, AI, and network states for coliving and collaboration.

After the original event, Zuzalu decentralized into independently-run Zu-villages, supported by two Gitcoin funding rounds for both events and core infrastructure like Zupass.

Zuzalu is especially important because it minted the popup village model that provided a concrete organizational form to the network state movement.
