About Zanzalu
Zanzalu is a living lab and annual popup city in Fumba Town, Zanzibar. Builders, technologists, and innovators gather for three weeks to test ideas in real time, form high-trust networks, and experiment with technology, governance, and culture. The event blends focused programming with unstructured time in a walkable waterfront community complete with coworking, housing, and amenities.
The long-term goal is a permanent innovation hub in Fumba Town that supports year-round residencies and community events.

First five-week popup city launches in Fumba Town from May 15 to June 21 with workshops, talks, and governance experiments.

Second edition runs July 19 to August 1 with a tighter program, larger audience, and Road to Parallel Society event.

Third edition expands to three weeks from July 25 to August 14 with multi-track programming, residencies, and FuTopia festival.
