Proof of Retreat is a community project that treats in-person retreats as a cryptographically verifiable social coordination mechanism. Participants earn a proof (a digital credential or NFT) that attests to their physical co-presence at a retreat, building a layer of real-world trust on top of digital identities.
The project explores how periodic in-person gathering can strengthen online communities and how zero-knowledge proofs can verify physical presence without compromising privacy.
