About Liberland
The Free Republic of Liberland sits on 7 km² of land known as Gornja Siga between Croatia and Serbia. Proclaimed in 2015 on terra nullius territory from a longstanding border dispute, it was founded by Czech libertarian activist Vít Jedlička to embody individual liberty, voluntary cooperation, and limited government.
Liberland operates as a constitutional republic with direct democracy elements and runs on blockchain for transparent governance. It held its first congressional election entirely onchain in 2024 and uses Liberland Merits (LLM) alongside Bitcoin and the Liberland Dollar.
